Wildlife photography - a rewarding means of artistic expression - a "hunt" with a camera (without having to kill) - immortalizing a moment in time - a means of making contact with nature and the world around us...
Photographic safaris are becoming more and more popular, especially amongst eco-tourists. they promote an experience that is awesome to the photographer and one that is beneficial to the animals as well.
Al Fort Buis, a photographic expedition into the veld is a must. Although the farm encompassed an area of 600 hectares, the terrain and wildlife (24 species) is diverse and impressive. If photography is not one of your hobbies, you can still experience the vast wildlife of Fort Buis with a day or night game drive, or a guided hiking tour of the terrain.

the lesser part of the farm is grassland, where Tsessebe, Livingstone Eland, Zebra, Sable and Wildebeest roam. In the thickets, one also finds an abundance of Kudu, Nyala, Waterbuck and Buffalo. On the farm, one also finds two natural fountains and alongside the meandering streams the abundance of birdlife is profuse.
Well camouflaged hides are set at strategic locations within the property, on well-trot game trails or alongside waterholes. These hides are ideally suited to the photographer who wants to wile his time away while waiting for the right moment to be captured on film. Game drives by way of 4x4 vehicles can also be arranged, and because the game on this farm are not hunted by firearms at all, one can expect to come into very close proximity with the animals found here.
Our blinds all look directly onto waterholes or well-used game trails. We have elevated, as well as ground blinds - depending upon the terrain, sun and wind direction. Blinds are spacious. They have overhead roofs, and have adjustable ports - making them both suitable for standing or sitting archers.
